We use Java 6 in our Environment and i can compile the trunk against Java 6 .. that's no problem. 
In JCR-4025 you have defined the animal sniffer plugin to check against Java 6. With this commit the animal sniffer plugin was changed to Java 7.
Can we switch back to Java 6 till we commit us to no more support for Java 6 ?
