Hi,

It might be a known bug, resolved in trunk:
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=49837 . I got hit by
this bug when using soft hyphen html entities (­)

I suggest trying your input against fop trunk. In my case, I patched the
released 1.0 jar to cope with the issue while 1.1 is released.
