still exist in the subdirectory.
"File, Templates, Organize, Commands, New" fails to create a new subdirectory.
Copy\Paste into "My Templates", fails to make the templates visible.
Update fails to make the templates visible.
Import Template fails "Template already exists" error.

Saving files into the template folder fails to make the templates available for
use on a mac too - even if you save them there as templates from within Open
Office.

The solution - which is far from a good one - is that you have to open the
templates manager (file/templates/organise), then click on 'My Templates', then
click on commands, then click on import templates, then go through the import
process.

If you do this the templates will then show in My Templates and be available
for use in Open Office.

This is an extremely tedious procedure that normal users are unlikely to divine
or master and reflects on Open Office poorly.

If the idea is to make OOo 4 the best office suite about, it seems to me that
an infinitely better solution would be:

1 that if you save a template it should be automatically imported into the My
Templates folder and instantly available for use

2 that any template placed manually in the My Templates folder should also be
immediately available for use

3 to just have a tick box for 'save as a template' in the save menu and do away
with the need to save as .ott - at least from the users point of view

4 have a natty apple type visual display for selecting templates.

Hope it helps.

PS Does anyone know if these comments be picked up for OOo 4 development from
here, or is it necessary to post them elsewhere too? Many thanks.

Correct. I only encounter this on Windows.
Is there anything else I can provide, specific files, registry entries, etc
that might help?

File - Templates - Organize... - Commands - New -> name given to directory is
ignored i.e. actual sub-directories are called Untitled, Untitled1 etc.

At least on Linux it's not reproducible.
