[jira] [Commented] (ANY23-3) add support for N3

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ANY23-3?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13401137#comment-13401137 ]

Peter Ansell commented on ANY23-3:
----------------------------------

Supporting N3 fully is not possible with the current sesame-rio-n3 parser, as it is merely a wrapper for the sesame-rio-turtle parser. Until N3, Turtle and NTriples go through standardisation and the exact relationship of N3 to both Turtle and NTriples is defined (as the current 28 March 2011 W3C Team Submission does not define the relationship exactly [1]), then it is difficult to say what the RDF subset of N3 is.

If in doubt I suggest that Any23 should remove the reference to fully supporting N3 and focus on supporting Turtle (as the defacto RDF subset of N3), while still recognising the common N3 MIME-types (both text/n3 and text/rdf+n3) and attempting to parse N3 documents using the sesame-rio-n3 parser to get a future benefit from any subsequent changes to the N3 specification that may introduce RDF-compatible features that are not in Turtle.
