Ant build.xml and multiple maven.repo.remote
Hi,
I there a mean to create a working build.xml with the ant plugin when our
project uses more than one remote repository?
>From what I see, the ant plugin only takes ibiblio into account.
Thanks
Oscar

There's a couple of options:
1) use a plugin dependency.
Instead of plugin:install, run plugin:repository-install. Then on the
test project, temporarily add the plugin as a dependency.
2) use a different plugins directory
maven -Dmaven.plugin.dir=/tmp/maven/plugins
-Dmaven.plugins.unpacked.dir=/tmp/maven/cache plugin:install
Use the same properties for the test project.

Oscar,
Following your remarks, I updated the snapshot and the site.
Cheers.

Fixed (I hope).
Changes in this version include:
New Features:
o Ant script looks for dependencies in several remote repositories. Issue:
MPANT-24.
o Add License file to jar META-INF. Issue: MPANT-23. Thanks to Phil Steitz.
o Allow URL substitutions in generated build.xml files. Issue: MPANT-20.
Thanks to Dennis Lundberg,Craig McClanahan.
o Obey jar override and not attempt to download relative jars. Issue:
MPANT-7.
o Ant user can set proxy settings.
o New property maven.ant.compatibility if you want a script compatible with
ant 1.5 (actually for proxy settings).
Changes:
o "get-deps" target store downloads to the default local maven repository
(${user.home}/.maven/repository). Issue: MPANT-21.
To automatically install the plugin, type the following on a single line:
maven plugin:download
-Dmaven.repo.remote=http://cvs.apache.org/repository
-DgroupId=maven
-DartifactId=maven-ant-plugin
-Dversion=SNAPSHOT
You'll find the documentation here :

Finally I'm working on your issue (and some others) ;-)
Can you open it on Jira please ?
It's easier to use
$maven plugin:install-now
But it won't resolve your problem.
We can't downgrade a plugin (except manually)

I could give it a try.
But could you give some advise in that respect. When working on a plugin, say
ant, if I need to test it against some arbitrary project.
I do something like:
$ maven plugin:install
And it replace my working ant plugin version with
maven-ant-plugin-<version>-SNAPSHOT.jar.
When I switch to other projects I am working on, I currently uninstall the
plugins and resinstall the stable ant plugin.
It's annoying when you go back and forth from plugin development to other
projects that need a stable plgin version.
There must be an easier way.
Thanks

Actually we haven't try to do it.
You can open an issue for this enhancement.
If you're able to provide a patch it will help us ;-)
