Is there a way to bypass marshalling/unmarshalling by SOAP endpoint

Hi, I am seeing SOAP as a way to pass a serialized object graph from
point A to B. I am looking at the following scenario. I want to pass
some XML data from a client to a server. I feel that
marshalling/unmarshalling this XML isn't going to be appropiate and may
lead to performance problems. Is there a way to prevent this or this is
not correct SOAP design methodology ?
