fp and esql together

I have an xml document with embedded esql.  This all works fine.

When I declare the namespace for fp, the esql stops working with no
error messages.  I'm not even using fp at this point, I've just declared
the namespace.

Digging through the archive, I found some messages that indicated that
this problem had been identified and fixed last October.  I'm seeing it
in the lastest release (1.8.2).  I don't see anything open in bugzilla
for this.

Does anyone know the status of this one?  Is there a known workaround?
