Access bean:message key in scripting variable

I'm looking to store the value of key from the properties file into a
variable in either the pagecontext or request scope.  so I can use it in
some import logic within a JSTL tag.  For example:

<bean:message key="publishing.DEFAULT_LOCATION" />
   
<c:import url="${message}" /> 
 
Any information would be appreciated.
