This does not appear to be fixed as of 2.0.49. When using a relative path to
ServerRoot in the httpd.conf file it did not throw any errors or give any
indication in the logs that it was not parsing the file. On the contrary it
seemed to indicate all was well. I have posted the out put in another bug
(possible dup?) #22711
