Is "not found: transaction xy" bug official?

Hi SVN users,

my team and I suffer also under the "not found: transaction xy" bug
(See this thread:
http://www.contactor.se/~dast/svnusers/archive-2004-05/0191.shtml
).

Is this bug official under the scope of the svn dev team? I found
nothing in the svn issue tracker.

This bug is for us a reason to not use svn in the near future! Is there
someone who has a workarround for this? Only solution is to do a new
checkout of repository, but this is not practical if the bug occur more
than once a week.

Is it an solution to transfer the server to a linux box? Clients have to
be Win XP in our environment. If this is an option, is there a howto for
the migration of the db files (Win32->Linux)?

Our Systems:

Server: Win2000, svn-1.0.2, Apache with https
8 Clients: Win XP, tortoisesvn-1.0.4 (against svn-1.0.2)

Regards,

Kallelix.

Interesting. One of our new-to-Subversion developers ran into this
recently, and her wc was a mess. (Using Apache on Win2K at the server,
TortoiseSVN on WinXP at the client.) I assumed it was a result of
something odd I did while testing the install originally or something
odd the developer did without realizing it. Now I'm not so sure. If
the error comes up again, I'll try to figure out how to reproduce it &
report here.

There are three "critical" bugs in my mind right now:

1. the bug you quote above. Nobody seems to have a reproduction recipe
for it, yet many win32 users are complaining about it. My guess is that
it's somehow releated to case (in)sensitivity on win32 (whereby the
client asks for the incorrect case of a file from the server, and the
server says "not found"). I don't think there's an issue filed for it
yet.

2. the random 'malformed network data' errors windows users are seeing
with svnserve. Perry Metzger claims he can reproduce it reliably. I've
asked him to file a new issue with his reproduction recipe.

3. at least one case-(in)sensitivity bug that causes 'svn up' to destroy
unversioned files. This is filed as issue 1854, though it would be nice
if the longer recipe and discussion from SteveKing could be added to
that issue (he posted about it on the dev@ list recently.)

So would somebody like to file an issue for #1, and place a link to the
mail thread there? And can somebody append SteveKing's analysis to
issue 1854?

The Chicago team has been very busy with internal work lately, so it
would be great if other developers with access to windows boxen could
attempt to reproduce these three bugs. They seem quite serious, and I
know lots of users will want to track progress on these bugs.
