run simple example from command line

Hi,

I'm new to Xalan and XSLT and I'm trying to perform a "Hello world". I have
Xalan-C version 1.10.0 installed from the Debian repository. I want to make
run the example that can be found in this page:
http://www.tizag.com/xmlTutorial/xslttutorial.php

What is the command that I have to use in the terminal?
