Looking for examples

I'm working on a write up for Quarks concepts.

I already have a few examples, but I'm hoping people can contribute with
some more imaginative or interesting examples of *source streams* and *sink
functions*.

Current examples:

Source streams
* Temperature readings from a temperature sensor
* Location readings from a GPS device

Sink functions
* Perform local device control, such as shutting down a device that is
overheating
* Send information to a centralized analytics system through a message hub
