[GitHub] [samza] li-afaris opened a new pull request, #1675: [SAMZA-2786] remove the docs gradle project

li-afaris opened a new pull request, #1675:
URL: https://github.com/apache/samza/pull/1675

As explained in [SAMZA-2786](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SAMZA-2786) a missing dependency used by the docs gradle project is blocking builds. This PR will remove references to the docs gradle project until we figure out how to resolve the dependency problem.

It appears there was an issue with artifact downloads from Jcenter.
   https://github.com/jruby-gradle/jruby-gradle-plugin/issues/445

I just ran `./gradlew docs:jekyllBuild` and `./gradlew docs:jekyllServeLocal` and was able to load Samza documentation at localhost. Closing this as we don't need to remove the docs project just yet.

Should it be an issue in the future, we probably want to write a task that bypasses the jruby-gradle plugin by creating a task to download jruby & run locally with a Gem file for dependency management.

Re: [PR] [SAMZA-2786] remove the docs gradle project [samza]

Small comment to folks who, like me, are first time importers of the Samza project.

If you clone the directory and attempt to load it as a Gradle project into IntelliJ, it seems that this `jruby` dependency still blocks the entire codebase from being correctly loaded by the IDE.

This PR comes up as the top result on googling the error.

On attempting to apply the fixes in the PR, the Gradle project import completed successfully.

Hope this helps anyone else who faces this issue.
