[jira] Created: (FELIX-1399) compendium has a required dependency on javax.servlet

compendium has a required dependency on javax.servlet
-----------------------------------------------------

                 Key: FELIX-1399
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-1399
             Project: Felix
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: felix-1.8.1
            Reporter: Thomas Diesler

The org.osgi.compendium-1.2.0 should not have a required dependency on javax.servlet IMHO

There are environments where HTTP access is not required

Richard S. Hall closed FELIX-1399.
----------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Issues like this have resulted in us deciding to no longer release the official OSGi JAR files. There is no good way to do it. If we make servlet optional then it causes problems in other situations and people complain to us that our JAR file is broken, so we can't win either way.
