[~zjffdu] The approach should fix the issue. Minor nit: doesn't routeEvents() need to be synchronized or in a write lock? 

[~bikassaha] Any concerns with this approach? It will work for the current case but may break later depending on how complex vertex managers get and when they generate their root events.
