merging test scripts parts

Hello,
Does JMeter allow collaborative work? Is it possible for several users 
to record parts of a JMeter test script individually, then merge those 
different parts into a single script? Is there a better way than trying 
to copy and paste the xml scripts manually (a somewaht risky proposition)?
