I see. I understood your heavily hard situation before.

Yes, just I thought that "using forrestbot and putting on the cocoondev
means that whoever wants to build poi site would be sure to succeed".
Given that poi site build succeeded in cocoondev, most of the
users/committers might succeed in the site build, using currest Forrest.

Okay.

TIPS: When you run "ant reports" on the jakarta-poi module,
you have to make sure that you set CVSROOT
':pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic'.
If you used ssh or whatever, you will fail at 'CVSCHANGELOG'
ant taskdef ("Error running cvs log") ;-)
# This could be an FAQ for all the committers in apache.org,
# sooner or later. ;-)

Sincerely,

I'm not suggesting that I'm proposing to stop you from scratching your itch.
I'm suggesting if this is some evil thing that taps processor at 100% and
takes forever that it shant run on my sever. I don't remember much about
it, but that I looked at it and thought "yuck" but that was some time ago.

I suggest this criteria be used for the project (my server = my criteria,
project = community criteria):

A. simple enough for a poi committer with little interest in forrest to
modify/configure
B. consistency (the thing should continue to work without care and feeding
for months if not years at a time)

If it doesn't run on my server than B becomes a more serious issue. If it
runs on my server then my criteria is more serious (meaning I don't care if
it screws up someone else's server)

uhhmmm. I am not sure Forrestbot is *evil* or not. (just a foreign
language? ;-)
Most of the xml.apache sites, avalon site and incubator sites use
forrestbot... This means that we have nice precursors. Why hesitate
to ask them how to use it?

Forrestbot looked evil last time I saw it.. Like a big overblown mess. I'd
like to keep POI's infrastructure where we have control and keep it simple.
We've had trouble with complexity getting in our way in the past.

Dear Poi Committers,

I'm very grateful to all of you for your trust and
for the acceptance into the community.

Here comes a bit of my story::

Maybe you think it is strange, I majored in Laws (private laws)
at the University of Tokyo.
In my college days, I devoted to math(s), physics and chemistry
as general education course, but I have changed my mind to
devote to Laws somehow or other ;-).
In college days, I learned a lot about the computers. It was
indescriptably touching when I first explored the internet world
via Mosaic.
I established my company, Terra-International, Inc., in 1997.
Devoted to form the "communities" for the college students
in Japan, and worked with the guys in financial, real estate,
education, electronic commerce, marketing area etc..
# Also, I have many friends of assemblymen/women all over the japan.
My company do the development of the (non-"language"-specific) software
products, translations of the english documents, marketing
and management consulting etc. Early in this year, I moved from Tokyo,
the capital of Japan, to my hometown, where the nearest to Russia.
(I learned Russian in my college days as a second foreign language.
I'm very interested in Russia, yet I have not been to.)
I'm located in Hokkaido, northern island of Japan : GMT+09
I do enjoy the difference of TIMEZONE, I mean,
when I am in sleep, the others are actively publishing
the new codes, documents, etc..

I have the sincere honor, and am pleased to work with you all.
