Re: 4.22.1 Release Plan
Hi All,
I would like to share the status of the 4.22.1 release
We have so far closed 113 items, and still have 170 open items ( 141 Issues [2]and 29 PRs[3] ) in the 4.22.1 milestone [1].
Ping me (@rajujith) and/or Suresh (@sureshanaparti) on your PRs and issues that are to be included in 4.22.1.

Subject: 4.22.1 Release Plan
Hi All,
It's been 8 weeks (around 2 months) since the 4.22.0 release. As discussed
here [1], I'll serve as the RM for 4.22.1 release. My colleague Jithin will
support me as the co-RM, assisting with triage, reviews, testing, merges,
etc and release work.
I propose the following timeline for the 4.22.1 release:
- Now until 9 March 2026: Accept PRs for bug fixes, improvements and
features, with appropriate reviews and tests.
- 10 - 16 March 2026: Stabilize the 4.22 branch. During this time, Only PRs
for the critical or blocker issues will be accepted.
- 17 - 30 March 2026: Cut the 4.22.1 RC1 (and additional RCs if needed),
start & conclude the vote, and finish the release process/work.
All open issues and PRs targeted for this release are tracked in the 4.22.1
release milestone [2] and the project board [3]. Ping me (@sureshanaparti)
and/or Jithin (@rajujith) on your PRs and issues that are to be included in
4.22.1.
Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback. Looking forward
to your support on bug fixes, reviews, and testing.

I think these PRs still need some review/testing. If any of them are
critical, please let me know (address outstanding comments, and need dev &

Hi All,
The planned items for 4.22.1 are now complete, so I would like to announce
a code freeze on the 4.22 branch. Most of the open items in the 4.22.1
milestone [1] will be deferred to the next milestone.
From now onwards, only critical/blocker or stabilization fixes will be
accepted. I'll work towards cutting 4.22.1.0 RC1, and start the voting
process.

Hi All,
Here is the latest update on the 4.22.1 release.
We have closed 119 items (not much progress since the last update), and
still have 197 open items (some added) in the 4.22.1 milestone [1].
- Open PRs [2]: 39
- Open Issues [3]: 158 (23 have linked PRs [4])
It seems we need some more time to work on the outstanding items, so I
would like to postpone the 4.22.0 release.
Updated timelines below:
- Until 27 March 2026: Accept PRs for bug fixes, improvements and features
(with appropriate reviews and tests).
- 28 March - 3 April 2026: Stabilize the 4.22 branch. Only PRs for the
critical or blocker issues will be accepted.
- 4 - 15 April 2026: Cut the 4.22.1 RC1 (and additional RCs if needed),
start & conclude the vote, and finish the release work.
Ping me (@sureshanaparti) and/or Jithin (@rajujith) on your PRs and issues
that are to be included in 4.22.1.
