SPI contribution to Jackrabbit (initial commit)

[Angela Schreiber <an...@day.com>]

hi

rev. 421270

i added the current status of the SPI efforts into
a new contribution (spi).

you may find there

README.txt
TODO.txt
FAQ.txt

that may (or may not) provide a rough overview, very
(really) shortly summarize the goals of the project
and list the major issues. the FAQ contains some
questions i would possibly ask the committer.

please note, that the commit is not the result of
a reached milestone. i would have preferred to commit
the project in a somewhat mature state, one that would
at least allow to read and was tested at least for
the basics.... hm.

bref. what you will find is a snapshot as of today.
