The Gradle Build and Deps

Soon you guys are gonna fight about transitive deps.

I encourage you to take a fresh look at everything.

We have a huge project that we have to harmonize deps across.

We want our deps up to date - bugs, security issues, debt, pain with more
time, deps that actually do count on min versions of the deps they have.

There are people working towards good dep management. You need to stop
working against. It's not a long term strategy.

Gradle is a lot more approachable and usable for a dev - it has tons of
tools to help with god dep management. If you want my opinion, what we do
is not good dep management at all. I was only for it, because I was
defending against the insanity I see so often with mvn. But I don't see
that insanity in Gradle.

You have to understand, I was building software before I was really even
talking to people. I walked a mile up hill as fast as I could to get home
after school and build software. I left more poor sister to walk behind
alone because I’m an asshole. To program In like Visual Basic. How stupid
was I. God I’m lazy. But I love building software. Stay out of my way :)
but don’t be a stranger.
