Installing mailets in the James container

Has the process of installing mailets been improved since 2003? Claude Duguay
mentions this problem in his tutorial,
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-james2/index.html Working
with James :

Unfortunately, the only viable way to add mailets to the James package is to
reproduce the SAR file. This is awkward and much more complicated than it
should be, but the James development team is aware of this inconvenience and
intends to make it better.

Has this problem been fixed?
