[DISCUSS] 360 Flex Denver 2012 - Nominate the Apache Flex MVP!

Q: I received a question regarding who is eligible for On3's Apache Flex MVP contest? who is speaking? And who is available to attend?
A: So, will you please state if you are interested and able to attend the 360|Flex conference? I would like to give those on this list a hint about who should be nominated for the free conference passes. As this is a list of FOAF's who don't necessarily know each other, it also seems appropriate to nominate yourself if you judge yourself to be providing benefit to the project.

I am also interested in your thoughts about a voting process for those nominated. I can send those who have commented recently a survey monkey link or we can vote here with the normal voting process?

Question: From this list, who has made the most valuable contribution to the Apache Flex project?

Jude Frangipane was nominated and received 5 votes - he wins the contest & I have a 360|Flex full conference pass for him.
Sebastian Mohr was nominated and received 5 votes - he wins the contest & I have a 360|Flex full conference pass for him.

Randy Troppman received a nomination & 3 votes (nice job!)
Niel Drummond also received a nomination and 3 votes (nice job!)

Congratulations to Sebastian Mohr & Jude Frangipane, the 2012 Apache Flex MVPs! This title is ceremonial and was just a way to give those who were contributing their time & expertise some recognition.

With my mentor hat on, I don't think it's appropriate to hold a vote
here for that.

Apache projects don't have leaders who have more powers than others -
by design.

If external entities want to reward people for their work on Apache
Flex that's cool, but that should happen outside of this project.
Ideally (IMO) there would be just one message on this list to announce
such contests, and the rest happens elsewhere.

I'm trying to say that without being negative about this particular
contest, please don't get me wrong: it's great that folks want to help
promote Flex in this way, we just have to be careful about Apache Flex
staying neutral w.r.t such things.
