[REVIEW] Initial items for review for 1.4 release

Hi All,

A new branch for 1.4 is created under
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tuscany/branches/sca-java-1.4

Wiki page used to track the 1.4 release info -
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANYWIKI/Release+-+Java+SCA+1.4

Also we have the above wiki page updated on the following information:

1. Features and Functionality going in for 1.4
2. JIRA's addressed for 1.4 release.
3. List of sca/modules included and excluded from distribution.
4. List of samples included for the distribution

We also discussed on the list of modules excluded from the distribution from
demos, itests and samples in a seperate thread.....
http://www.mail-archive.com/dev@tuscany.apache.org/msg03777.html

I like to get some review comments from the community on the items listed
above.
I believe this would help to understand that I have not missed anything
before we go ahead to create a release candidate. Thanks.

Looks like people have been busy! Are we close to getting a first RC done so
we can get a wider set of people looking at it?

Hi Luciano

Looking at the commits I don't see anything particularly controversial. I'd
add them and we'll test in the context of the 1.4 distribution.

I have cleaned up the extra dependencies from photo-gallery sample and
also fixed TUSCANY-2715 (svn revisions 723564 and 723595 in the 1.x
branch). I believe I have also workaround the issue where
contribution was creating a target directory as described in Simon
Nash's thread [1] (svn revision 723588 in the 1.x branch).

If people are comfortable, I'll merge these to 1.4 branch tomorrow.

I created a validation test for TUSCANY-2698. While working on this
(and figuring out why it wasn't producing the expected diagnostic),
I added a few more changes to my code fixes for TUSCANY-2698. I'm
running a full build now, and I'll commit the new itest and the code
changes into the 1.x branch when the build passes. Tomorrow (Friday)
I'll copy these updates into the 1.4 branch.

Hi,

There have been couple of issue that I have been noticing while including
the new modules in the distribution....

While binding-sca-jms module is included the following error message is
noticed as common error (running with ant) in some of the samples,
though the maven build did not give any issues.

I have not raised any JIRA's for this issue as the error message goes off,
when the binding-sca-jms and host-corba module is
excluded from the distribution.

Please suggest if these modules needs to be included in 1.4, accordingly we
can raise a JIRA to tackle this.
