Which way for JSR-286 support?

I've been subscribed and following the recent activity with great interest.
I'm giving the JSR-286 tutorial at ApacheCon in just two more weeks.  What's
the best route today, in terms of a suitably functional Pluto codebase?

Is anyone around on IRC/IM?
