[users@httpd] Ignoring invalid DocumentRoot on start (apache 2.2.16)

Hi to all.
Apache 2.2.22 starts even if some DocumentRoot of its virtual host does not exist. Is it possible to configure older versions of Apache (2.2.16) to same behaviour?
