Summary: Apache don't start when logfile is used by an other
                    process
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.0.55
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_rewrite
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: dietmar.mueller@eurotours.at

During setup from a 2nd config with other ports on my server I found follow.

I use rewrite like:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteLog foo/rewrite.log
RewriteLogLevel 0

One apache instance is running with the same code. If I start the 2 instance
apache finish startup without any message. The problem is, that the file
rewrite.log is locked by an other process. If I start with -e debug I also don't
get some message. I know this is a configuration error but any message that the
log file is used would by very helpful!

regards Dietmar

System: Win2000 SP4

D:\Apache2\bin>apache -v
