Postage target?

Hi,

What is the target of Postage? Only JAMES or is it supposed
to be able to test other mail servers as well?
I found documentation only about how to configure it with JAMES :(.

Maybe it sounds crazy, but if it can test other mail servers too, could it
display the comparison results in a similar way the PolePosition project does it for databases?
http://polepos.sourceforge.net/
AFAIK at the moment there are no numbers for comparisons between mail servers
(at least for the most used POP and SMTP services).

Thanks in advance,

Ahmed.

Basically, it uses only POP3 and SMTP protocols. It _can_ use JMX on
the target server, but this is optional.
So it is build to work against any mail server although...

... I never tested it with anything else than James, despite my original plans.
You'd have to tweak the target to behave as Postage expects (for
example, it expects that any outgoing mail is forward from the target
to Postage).

Doesn't sound crazy at all. It only needs someone to do it!

I would be very excited to hear what you might find!!
