Whitespace preservation and SAXParser

Hi,
 
Is it possible to return whitespace information within tags ie. carriage
returns found in attribute values or carriage returns within a tag using the
SAXParser?  I haven't come across anything yet.  It is just people tend to
complain when we process there files and they don't come back exactly the
same.  It is not a huge problem, but it would be nice.
