[users@httpd] Can connect to SSL using localhost but not remotely
I am using WAMP 2.0 with Apache2.2.11. I am trying to configure my server
to access SSL connections.
I have been able to successfully configure the server so that if I type
https://localhost, it serves up the correct page.
However, if I use the IP address (remotely or on the server) e.g.
https://xx.xx.xx.xx, I get the error message:
Not Found
HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.
I seems to me that I have configured things correctly because it is working
from localhost, but I don't know why I can't access the same pages remotely.
I have verified that port 443 is open and that there is someone listening to
it. I have opened the port on both my router and in Windows firewall.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, the Windows command prompt.
If you can't find httpd, that means it is not in your path.
cd to the directory where you have Apache installed (on my computer it is
C:\Webserv\Apache2.2\bin, but it could be C:\Program Files\Apache2.2\bin
or C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache2.2\bin) and try again.
That is the same operating system that I am running one of my development
machines on.

What do you get when you type httpd -S on the command line (you may need to
be running elevated on Windows Vista/7).

I'm not sure what you mean by "use a client that tells you what's wrong when
it can't connect to the server". Do you have any suggestions or examples?
Thanks!

Sounds like your routing/firewall.
I'd suggest you use a client that tells you what's wrong when it can't connect to the server.
You can check it by typing an address you know to be bogus: then if it tells you 404 you
know it's lying, and useless for any kind of development/diagnostic work.

I just did a test...when I type in https://myipaddress, there isn't a single
entry generated in any of the logs. So it looks like it isn't even hitting
the server. (When I use http://myipaddress, all is well and it serves the
page, so I KNOW I'm typing the right IP address!).
Thanks.

What does the error log say?
(If nothing, your client is lying when it tells you 404).
