[I] [Bug]: Azure blob storage tracks read position incorrectly (hop)
hansva opened a new issue, #8838:
URL: https://github.com/apache/hop/issues/8838
### Apache Hop version?
2.20.0
### Java version?
21
### Operating system
Windows
### What happened?
Azure VFS: reading after a skip returns wrong or missing data
The Azure VFS read wrapper BlobInputStream tracks its read position incorrectly:
skip(n) counts the skipped bytes twice when checking for end of file. On a 100-byte file, skip(60) skips 60 bytes but reports 40, and every later read returns end of file, so the rest of the file is lost.
Through the BufferedInputStream that Commons VFS wraps around it, skipNBytes(60) fails with "Unable to skip exactly".
Bulk reads never update the position, so available() always reports the full file size, and the guard against page-blob padding doesn't hold across several small reads.
This affects anything that seeks by skipping on azure:// files, such as the Iceberg reader's fallback.
### Issue Priority
Priority: 2
### Issue Component
Component: VFS
