Would be cool to have a full-screen editor in place of the current one. In practice what this means is an extra button next to the regular editor which would open the editor in a new window with as few decorations as possible. Perhaps even with editor on the left and preview on the right?
No target release, but I think this is a candidate for the trunk.

Experimental version is now available in v3.0.0.
When you hover the mouse in the area between the favorites menu and the main page/editor area, a vertical bar will be shown. When you click it, you will toggle to full-screen mode. The favorites menu is now visible below the main page/editor area.
Click again to move back to the split-screen layout.
TODO: when in full-screen mode, it would be cool to have the favorite area displayed(slide in from the left) when you hover the mouse over the vertical bar;.

It's still a far cry from a full-screen editor though; I'd like to see it in a separate window. Perhaps even a settable option in the user preferences?

By making the Favorites section collapsable (see [JSPWIKI-318], the editor now can occupy the full width of the screen.
Of course, we do need to find a better place for the suggestion menu. I am experimenting with some js to position the suggestion menu just beneath the position of the cursor.
For the preview section, we could add a button allowing to switch between a horizontal (editor next to the preview) and a vertical (editor above the preview) mode.
