[users@httpd] Auth for local, but not remote

I have checked the apache docs but can't seem to figure out how to do a
simple operation.

I want to require authentication for users coming from a remote machine,
but if a request comes from the local machine the request needs no
authentication.

How do I configure apache to do this? It would be even better if I could
put this in a .htaccess file.

Found the answer to my own question.

http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/core.html#satisfy

By the way, I messed up the subject line for this. It should be "Auth
from remote, but not local". Sorry for any confusion.
