connect to cvs timed out

Tried to use CVS to get the sources, but failed to connect. What did I
do wrong?

D:\cc\portlet>cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic login
Logging in to :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:2401/home/cvspublic
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.apache.org(64.125.133.21):2401
failed: Conne
ction timed out

Thanks,
Howard

I wish the Portlet API 2.0 is a cross specification like JSP, and you will
see in the future, the xreg, or psml can be interchangeable with iPlanet,
Bea, or Websphere..

welcome to the world of personalization

Portlet API 2

Posted by Howard Wong <hw...@sybase.com>.
Hi,

I saw the javadoc for the Portlet API 2 in CVS. This is old and the
sources for those are old too. Is this close to what JSR 168 is going to
use as a standard? I guess JetSpeed 2 is going to support the standard
Portlet API?

Thanks,
Howard

Howard,
Is their a firewall between you and the internet? (I bet the answer is
yes.)

The current war file can be downloaded from the Jakarta site,
http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-jetspeed/nightly/. The war
file is all you need to install and run Jetspeed. You can also see the
source code using http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/jakarta-jetspeed/.
If you need to download the source code:
1) Get the network folks to open up TCP/IP port 2401
or
2) Do a cvs checkout from a machine that has direct access to the internet

If the above is not possible, we might have other options if asked.

Paul Spencer
