[Bug 5513] New: No annoucement for SpamAssasin 3.1.9

http://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=5513

           Summary: No annoucement for SpamAssasin 3.1.9
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
               URL: http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/spamassassin-
                    announce/
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: Building & Packaging
        AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
        ReportedBy: eriker-sa@f-secure.com

SpamAssassin 3.1.9 seems to have been released recently, but no notice has been
sent out to the subscribers of the spamassassin-announce mailing list.

The same thing seems to have happened when 3.1.7 was released. Perhaps there
would be room for some process improvement in order to make sure release
announcements are handled in a standard fashion.

It was sent to the announcement mailing list as you can see from the following
headers taken from the copy that I received on the sa-dev mailing list. But I
don't see a copy of either this or the 3.2.1 announcement on any of the
spamassassin-announcement archive sites I looked at.

mystery solved: it appears that announce lists silently discard postings from
non-apache.org addresses. did anyone know this?

anyway, I've resent and they now seem to be getting through, so that was it.
I've also updated the build process.

------- Additional Comments From jm@jmason.org  2007-06-13 04:17 -------
well, the initial mail went out from my server to herse.apache.org:

Jun 11 21:16:09 dogma postfix/smtp[24134]: DF1F43100E2:
to=<an...@SpamAssassin.apache.org>, relay=herse.apache.org[140.211.11.133],
delay=22, status=sent (250 Queued!
<20...@radish.jmason.org> (Queue-Id: 2729A10FB015))
Jun 11 21:16:09 dogma postfix/smtp[24134]: DF1F43100E2:
to=<de...@SpamAssassin.apache.org>, relay=herse.apache.org[140.211.11.133],
delay=22, status=sent (250 Queued! <2007
0611201604.5748032CD8@radish.jmason.org> (Queue-Id: 2729A10FB015))
Jun 11 21:16:09 dogma postfix/smtp[24134]: DF1F43100E2:
to=<us...@SpamAssassin.apache.org>, relay=herse.apache.org[140.211.11.133],
delay=22, status=sent (250 Queued! <20
070611201604.5748032CD8@radish.jmason.org> (Queue-Id: 2729A10FB015))
Jun 11 21:16:09 dogma postfix/qmgr[5946]: DF1F43100E2: removed

After that, I see no sign of any mail from
<an...@spamassassin.apache.org> between then and now. So it looks
like there was no moderation request generated in response (unless I've got the
wrong address format).

Could I have wound up on the auto-reject address list for that ezmlm list? I'll
ask infra...
