Oracle large data type problems with Torque 3b3

A while back I posted a problem with Oracle 9i BLOBs and CLOBs that seemed
to be resolved by using a BINARY data type (which was mapped to LONG RAW in
Oracle). Unfortunately, when trying to insert something larger than 2k, I
get:

java.sql.SQLException: Data size bigger than max size for this type

My environment is Torque-3.0-b3, Oracle 9i (9.0.1), JDK 1.3

Anyone know of a work around?

Thanks.
