Datasource lookup returns null

I am using Tomcat 3.1 with Jboss2.0 Beta.

The oracle data sources are setup in Jboss. I copied the jndi.properties
file to the web-inf/classes under tomcat webapps.

However  getInitialContext().lookup( <dsname>) returns null.

Any comments or ideas ? I did add the jboss.jar file and the Oracle
classes to my tomcat classpath.
