This has now been fixed in CVS, in that the Proxy Server has an option to set 
it to false.

This should appear in the next version of JMeter (1.9.2?).

It's not only a problem for SSL - Keep-Alive does not really work properly 
with the default HTTPUrlConnection implementation...
