[jira] [Commented] (AMBARI-12758) Ambari webserver hangs when CPU cores > 40

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-12758?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14694832#comment-14694832 ]

mark teehan commented on AMBARI-12758:
--------------------------------------

On large multi-core machines, the ambari webserver starts but HTTP requests hang indefinitely. Nothing is displayed in the browser. If CPU cores are switched off (logically) so that the number of cores is <=40, and ambari-server is restarted, then it functions normally.
The CPU cores can be activated after successfully starting ambari-server. This implies that ambari-server is factoring in the number of CPU cores when starting and the multiplier effect of the high number of CPU cores exceeds a capability threshold. The test machine has 80 cores; the same effect is observed on another machine with 160 cores.
