Tomcat Windows Service crashes repeatedly

Description:
Tomcat Windows service crashes VERY frequently on Windows 2000 Professional.  The frequency has made Tomcat unusable as a standalone web server or as part of Apache.
<p>
Sometimes it takes only minutes before the service stops.
<p>
Note: The service DOES start successfully.
