I cannot reproduce it at http://www.wicket-library.com/wicket-examples-6.0.x/ajax/links (second link).

wicket-ajax-jquery.js properly calls 'event.preventDefault()' at the end of doAjax() method.
Please attach a quickstart and we will reopen it.
