[jira] [Updated] (HBASE-7613) Default hbase.regionserver.checksum.verify to true now that HDFS-3429 was committed

Jean-Daniel Cryans updated HBASE-7613:
--------------------------------------

    Attachment: HBASE-7613.patch

The patch we eventually need to apply. We need to keep setting dfs.client.read.shortcircuit.skip.checksum so that a newer HBase running on an older HDFS would still work, although double checksumming may happen.

> HDFS-3429 was committed to Hadoop trunk and 2.0 branch, so eventually we'll be able to turn HBase checksums on by default without requiring short circuit reads.
> I don't expect this to be committed for 0.96, this is more like a reminder.
