apache- prefix/trademark issue and the repository@a.o. guys update
As you know a couple of days ago I written to repository@a.o. to spread
the "apache-" prefix issue and to collaboratively find a solution.
Well, some of them (the majority at the time) are simply saying "-1" to
the use of "apache-" as the prefix for jars deployed to maven repositories.
So if you think the "apache-" prefix/trademark issue should be followed
by everyone in ASF please raise your voice in the repository list: it is
the right time to do that.
Stefano
-------------
PS: As I already replied to the proposal by Danny I'm happy with the
apache prefix for our products (I'm not so happy with jar generated for
modules of trunk james server:
apache-james-imapserver-function-2.3.0.jar" is a bit too long IMHO, but
I'm fine with everything else). This message is mainly intended as an
ASF community action, not something specific to JAMES.
