Debugging the portal

Hello,

I am new to this list and have a question about debugging. I possible found a 
bug in the portal block and want to debug it but I can't get debugging to 
work.

What would be the best option to debug the code from trunk? And how can I set 
it up? Using the new OSGI stuff maybe? I already looked at the documentation 
for 3.0 where the guide for the OSGI part is, but it didn't work for me.

I am thankful for any help.
