Add Portlet does not add portlet and opens a new web browser

Hello,

My jetspeed 2.2 portal was working fine. But suddenly, the Add Portlet functionality stopped working. Now when I click on Add Portlet, the add portlet page opens in a new web browser and the portlet does not get added to the original page.
I am not able to figure out why this has started to happen suddenly.

Please help.
