How can I do Validations in Velocimacro (.vm) files

Hi,

Could anyone help on the following issues:

1) can I do client side validations using Java Script or VB Scripts in
Velocimacros(.vm files). Otherwise do they support any other scripting
languages.

2) If have to do server side validations only, then could you pls explain
how to navigate to error pages or templates and could you pls send me the
sample code how it works.
