[jira] [Commented] (LEGAL-132) Determine whether the Leaflet license is useable in Apache products

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-132?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13258495#comment-13258495 ]

Kevan Miller commented on LEGAL-132:
------------------------------------

That is a BSD license -- http://opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.php

So, it's use seems perfectly acceptable to me.

> In Apache SIS land (http://incubator.apache.org/sis/) we are working on SIS-44 where Ross Laidlaw is proposing to use the Leaflet javascript GIS library to replace the Google Maps javascript demo app that we currently have.
> Looking at the Leaflet license here: https://github.com/CloudMade/Leaflet/blob/master/LICENSE it reads "sort of" BSD-y to me, but I wanted the guidance of this committee to determine its use. Our intention is to simply ship a demo.jsp file/app that demonstrates the SIS backend, and we currently are using Google Maps and its Javascript API to do this. I can't seem to find any explicit license file for it, but the API's use would seem to be governed by this link:
> So, net question: can we use Leaflet within our demo.jsp file to demonstrate the SIS webapp? I'd imagine this includes referencing the leaflet javascript API in our demo.jsp file, and referencing the associated CSS.
