Looking forward to learning from you all

Hi everyone,

I'm looking forward to learning from you all. The Philippines will be
launching its first microsatellite and my team is tasked with setting up a
data processing pipeline for it and I thought I'd give Apache OODT a try.
Been asking around at Twitter until the OODT account told me to come here.
Heh. I don't really know a lot of Java but I can code in Python so I hope I
can contribute to the project as well.

Best regards,

Romer Kristi D. Aranas

Awesome. How do I get started with it? I've already finished the RADiX
installation but I don't know where to proceed from there. Are there must
read threads in the mailing list archive?

Thanks! Not quite NASA level but we hope to get there :D It is my
assumption that this should be pretty straightforward to do with OODT so I
thought I'd try it. The alternative was to use S4PM or hack together some
Python scripts.

Will definitely take you up on that offer. :D Btw, I sent a pull request on
the book repo. I don't really know enough right now so I'm limiting myself
to catching typos but I hope to contribute more material as I get more
familiar with OODT :)

Hey Romer

Great to have you onboard, and sounds like a great project to be working on!

As Chris says, let us know when you have questions.

Hi Romer,

I’ve been corresponding with you on Twitter and am really looking
forward to your contributions!

Many OODT extension point allow Python:

1. Met Extractors in File Manager
2. CAS-PGE in Workflow Manager
3. Python client API (using XML-RPC) to FM, WM and RM
4. Versioners in File Manager to place files in correct storage locations

Let me know where/how I can help.

Cheers,
Chris
