Xerces C++ 2.1 fails to build on Linux 64 bits arch with -tlinux

Xerces fails to build on 64 bits arch (gcc 2.96+) when using the GNU iconv
transcoder. Here is an build log :

I am attaching a patch which fixes the problem.
