Java DB open for business under new management

Hi everyone,

There seem to be a lot of rumors flying around now that Sun is a wholly 
owned subsidiary of Oracle. I want you to know that the Java DB team 
will continue to contribute to Derby just as we've been doing for the 
last five years.

You may not know that the original founders of Cloudscape came from Sybase -
a mortal enemy of Oracle.  Rick was one of those Sybase folks - and now he
works for the Evil Empire.  Spooky! :)

Nice history: Cloudscape, then acquired by Informix, then IBM,
opensourced, Sun, now Oracle :-))
