I can confirm the behavior with all AOO 4.x.x Versions on Linux Mint 19.2
Cinnamon
The issue is easy to reproduce:
Open Writer
Change style or font
done
Save dialog and selection fiels in sidebar are also affected
Mint 19 uses Mint-y themes as Default. If you switch control panels to Mint-x
or related themes it works.
However, the issue also occurs on Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon if you switch to
Mint-y themes.
In both Mint versions you can restore the view by toggling to Page-View and
back (but this won't work in Save dialog)
No issue with AOO 3.4.1 and Mint-y themes.
But if you start AOO 3.4.1 in a Terminal the "Gail-Window" warning is also
shown
